Around this time last year, hundreds of intrepid and florally-obsessed tourists flocked to Pangasinan to witness the then newly-opened Sunflower Maze in Tayug Eco Park. The park primarily featured sunflowers of different kinds in full bloom, soaking in the summer sun, as well as featuring other species of flowers found in the Philippines.
However, due to poor design of the maze itself, the maze was forced to shut down because majority of the flowers had begun to wilt. The wilting was primarily attributed to the flowers only blooming exclusively during the summer season. This year, however, as the maze was re-opened, the management has since redesigned and remodeled the place to include over 4,000 species of sunflowers—and numerous other flower species—that will bloom over the course of the year, and not all at once.
The beautiful flower maze has been open since early this week, and will have a 40% discounted entrance fee until today. The maze itself will be open until May 31st, from 7AM to 7PM.
