Panampangan Island—part of the Municipality of Sapa-Sapa—is one of Tawi-Tawi's major tourist destinations. It is where the longest sandbar in the Philippines is located, stretching more than 3 kilometers!
The Province of Tawi-Tawi consists of over a hundred islands with mostly untouched and pristine white sand beaches. One of these islands is Panampangan, in the Municipality of Sapa-Sapa—it is where the longest sandbar in the Philippines can be found.
Panampangan Island is just about 45 minutes to an hour away from Bongao by speedboat. It boasts of crystal clear waters, rich marine life, powdery white sand and a sandbar that stretches more than 3 kilometers!
The place is included in the long list of tourist destinations in Tawi-Tawi being promoted by Department of Tourism-ARMM.
