The whole of Negros, to the majority of Filipinos, is known for its Maskara Festival, Ruins in Silay City, and Manjuyod's Sand bar. But there is one town known in Negros that captivates the hearts of the local—this is Don Salvador Benedicto. It is known as the summer capital of Negros Island due to its elevated location. It has cool weather and has a scenic view of the nearby mountains.
One of its main tourist attractions is its numerous pine trees, reminiscent of the Philippines Summer Capital, and is just as impressive to see firsthand, and as well as experience vicariously through Instagram.
Aside from that, there is the majestic Malatan Og Falls, a waterfall 30 minutes away from the main road. The waterfall is so beautiful, clean, and cold to the touch. It's the perfect place to unwind in after a long day of trekking. In fact, it's so clean you can even swim in it!
This is just a few of what Don Salvador Benedicto can offer. This is the summer capital of Negros. For you to visualize what I'm saying, watch the video above and enjoy!
