The Philippines has produced title holders through the years from the different beauty contests all over the world (and even in the universe). The four annual major international beauty pageants are: Miss Earth (2001), Miss International (1960), Miss Universe (1952), Miss World (1951)

Miss Earth

Miss Earth is an environmental-themed beauty pageant. It started in 2001 and promotes environmental awareness. The titleholders get to address global and environmental issues throughout their reign.

 

Karla Henry (Ms. Earth 2008)

Date of Birth: May 23, 1986

Birthplace: Limay, Bataan

Hometown: Cebu City, Cebu

Karla Paula Ginteroy Henry is the first Philippine delegate and the first to win the title in the Asian Region. She is a Filipino-Canadian beauty pageant title holder and was crowned Miss Earth 2008.

 Jamie Herrell (Ms. Earth 2014)

Date of Birth: July 12, 1994

Birthplace: Glendora, Los Angeles, California

Hometown: Cebu City, Cebu

Jamie Herell obtained the second Miss Earth Crown after Karla Henry. She spent her childhood in the United States and settled down in Cebu where her mother is from. Prior to Miss Earth, she joined several pageants locally and nationally. She also manages her own dance company in Cebu.

 

Angelia Ong (Ms. Earth 2015)

Date of Birth: June 27, 1990

Birthplace: Lapuz Norte, Lapuz, Iloilo City

Hometown: Manila

Angelia Gabrena Ong is the third Filipina to win the Miss Earth and making the Philippines the only country with a three-crown record.

 

 

Karen Ibasco (Ms. Earth 2017)

Date of Birth: December 17, 1990

Birthplace: Manila

Hometown: Manila

Karen Santos Ibasco is currently the reigning Miss Earth. She is the fourth Filipina to win the title making our country as the holder of the most number of crowns to win the pageant. She is a Physics professor at a university and licensed physicist.

With Philippines having 4 crowns: 2008, 2014, 2015 and 2017 (reigning) already. We are rooting again for our country to get a back-to-back win this year. Excited to find out who will be the next Miss Earth set on October 2018.
