Gaita Fores, the Chef behind your favorite Restaurants

Chef Gaita Fores of renowned restaurants such as Grace Park, Lusso and Cibo is set to lend her expertise to a good cause by serving Sinigang na Lechon, a specialty from Negros, at the “Around the Philippines in Small Plates” charity event on November 22, 2013. Here, renowned chefs from all over the country will serve different Filipino dishes for a definite gastronomic experience.

Lifestyle Network spearheads this event which is now on its second year. 100% of the proceeds will go to the I CAN SERVE FOUNDATION. For more on AROUND THE PHILIPPINES IN SMALL PLATES:

Chef Gaita had her training in Italy and eventually set up her catering business in the Philippines. From their she became a restaurateur and a lifestyle maven in the country.

She takes pride on being a Filipina chef and believes the Pinoy cuisine is on its way to becoming recognized internationally. She says, “We just have to have a real united approach in presenting our cuisine, we’re so regional about it.”

“Food tourism can go hand in hand with this new approach of tourism that ‘It’s more fun in the Philippines,’” she proposes. “Besides, the best way to anyone’s heart is through their stomach.”

Fast fact on Chef Gaita Fores:

There are 200 Pepper mills in her collection. “One of the things I learned in Italy, freshly ground pepper, you cannot replace with anything.”
