Chili is the spicy fruit of Capsicum frutescens that has more than 20 species in the world. Its main component is the chemical capsaicin which gives chilies the hotness.
When Typhoon Pablo hit Cateel in Davao Oriental in 2012, farmers turned to planting and processing Dumang or chili pepper which helped them rise up from the disaster. It was the warmth the people needed to resist the coldness of despair, and helped them rebuild their lives and get back what was unjustly taken from them by disaster. Now, they want to share that same warmth with people going through the same hardships, or at least, give life to their otherwise boring and bland meals.

How to Get There:
Major airlines fly daily to Davao City from Manila and Cebu. Travel time from Manila is an hour and 50 minutes while Cebu takes only 50 minutes.
