The Farm Life Is Better In Carpenter Hill: The Best Garden Resort In Koronadal

South Cotabato is one of the provinces of SOCCSKSarGen, otherwise known as Region 12. Its capital city, Koronadal, is a fast-growing center for business and culture.

The origins of the name Koronadal came from two B’laan words "koron" or "kolon" meaning cogon grass and "nadal" or "datal" meaning vast plains. It has a mixed population of Lumad, Muslim and Christians, amounting to 174,942 according to a 2015 census.

Just 6 kilometers from the city proper is a garden resort that still has fruit trees and lush forest to make you forget you’re in an urban center.

The farm at Carpenter Hill is 11 hectares of green escape from the concrete city.

Its Bonsai Garden will soothe your eyes and soul with its relaxing ambiance. You hear the chirping of the birds and the rustling of the bamboo leaves as the gentle wind breezes through it.

Walkways to and from the hotel to the Aviary restaurant are covered to shield you from the sun, and doubles as a great canopy to show off their numerous beautiful foliage.

Every now and then you get a glimpse of fruit trees like lanzones, a way to remind you that before The Farm became a garden resort, it was a fruit and game fowl farm, and was in fact the finest in Koronadal.

Dining at the resort’s Aviary Restaurant is a gastronomic delight as they have Chinese, Filipino, American and other different cuisines to choose from.  You might want to try their very tender and juicy baby back ribs, steamed pompano, binagoongang baboy, and garden salad to name just a few.

The Farm's Steakhouse is their latest addition in the premises, all for your dining pleasure. They serve only the most tender Wagyu beef. And after a hearty meal, you can also have their cakes for dessert.

You would eventually get to burn it all off in The Farm’s latest offering: its pools. The kids have a Jungle Book-themed pool while the adults get to relax under the cascade, or lounge around by the side of the pool.

And when it's time to finally wind down, the villas amid the tall trees and the courtyard rooms are so comfortable, it would guarantee a relaxing sleep. The Farm at Carpenter Hill would be your perfect home away from home in Koronadal.

How to get there:

Major airlines fly daily to General Santos City from Manila.
Koronadal is an hour away by land from General Santos City.  From Koronadal city proper, ride the tricycle to The Farm.

Room rates start at 3,290 for standard rooms to 9,990 for the dorm type that can accommodate 10 people. All rooms with complimentary breakfast and free use of swimming pool.
