Have you ever dreamt of being a beauty queen holding the title in your lifetime? Carmela Arcolas-Gamboa is the living proof. She's the first beauty queen to handle the longest beauty title.
Miss Philippines Centennial Carmela Arcolas, now Mrs. Carmela Arcolas-Gamboa, will be holding her crown for 100 years, the longest reigning beauty queen. She’ll be turn over the crown to her successor in the year 2098.
RP Centennial (1998-2098)
Out of the 27 beautiful Filipina contestants coming from the Philippines and all over the world, Carmela Arcolas came out victorious as the first Miss Philippines Centennial held at Clark Field, Pampanga last June 6, 1998.
MassKara Queen 1995
Before owning the "centennial crown", Carmela also owns the 1995 Masskara Queen title.
The Masskara Queen Pageant is one of the major activities of Bacolod's annual Masskara Festival celebration. It showcases the beauty and brains of Bacoleñas and highly regarded as the most prestigious beauty pageant of the City. After coronation they also compete in regional and national beauty pageants.
Carmela finished highschool on 1996 at La Consolacion College (LCC) - Bacolod. She is a volleyball fanatic, a versatile student, active on extracurricular activities and one of the student leaders during her highschool years.
Carmela took Bachelor of Science in Marketing Management at the University of Saint La Salle (USLS) - Bacolod. She is a Volleyball Varsity scholar of the school.
She met her husband, Ryan Gamboa, during her college years. They have a son, Karl, and a daughter, Lorien.
She manages and owns Fortuna Country Café, a quaint little coffee shop at Silay City, Negros Occidental.
Carmela is presently working as a TV host for "MagTV na Amiga!" a Sunday tele-magazine show of ABS-CBN Western Visayas.
