Dumaguete’s Cultural Dance Group Shines & Wins Big in South Korea

They performed a dance number called “Tag-araw” which is inspired by Philippines’ summer.

“The Filipinos are happy people with a warm and kind smile. We have expressed the fascinating scenery, life overflowing summer of the Philippines and their burning passion into fiesta.”

The music is ABS-CBN Summer Station ID 2012 “Pinoy Summer , Da Best Forever” performed by Sarah Geronimo and Gerald Anderson.

“Kahayag” is a Visayan word which means light or brightness.

Out of the other competing countries, the dance company bagged the grand prize of $5,000.

Congratulations to Dumaguete’s Kahayag Dance Company!
