Here's How Some CDO and Davao City Citizens Boost the Morale of Their Health Workers!

Cagayan, Davao City

During this very challenging period, the Filipino spirit of Bayanihan and Malasakit still shines through!

In Cagayan de Oro City, a former OR nurse treats all night shift hospital employees at Northern Mindanao Medical Hospital with free breakfast in her modern karinderya, Andreya. The breakfast menu includes: chorizo, tocino, beef tapa, bangus and danggit that comes with rice and egg.

“As a nurse, it’s the least I can do to help them. I’m happy to see them happy. Ganyan kasi kami sa OR dati, every time may magpakain, happy kami," Chef Mich Uapal said. (In the operating room, we’re the happiest if there are free meals)

Hospital employees are the frontliners or warriors who tirelessly guide and protect everyone in this current health crisis. “It uplifts the morale of the frontline workers who are demoralized by the discrimination of the public, knowing we had a positive COVID-19 case in our institution.” Said Lilibeth Espuelas Diana, NMMH Supervisor.

NMMH night shift hospital employees can avail of the free breakfast until March 31, 2020.

Meanwhile, in Davao City, Chef Darence Patrick Co of the Fat Cow also did his part in showing support to the health workers at Southern Philippines Medical Center. Chef Patrick, together with his staff, prepared more than a hundred food packs for the frontliners of SPMC. He also reminded the health workers to take care of themselves, too!

‘Let’s think of ways to help our city. Let’s unite and do what we can to help each other out. We will get through this!” said Co.
