Angel in disguise
#UniTENTweStandPH is a fund-raising campaign to help set-up additional tents for patients.
The objective is to accommodate more patients who need immediate treatments while also prioritizing the safety of our health workers.
The campaign became a big success because of the generous and kind hearts of the donors.
Through the campaign, Angel was able to raise more than 11 million pesos for 135 hospitals nationwide in just nineteen days.
Aside from the 246 tents, her team also received donations of food, PPEs, aircon and other medical supplies.

If we cast our minds back to a few weeks ago scrolling on Instagram looked somewhat different. Right now, we’re seeing celebrities and influencers branching out and using their social influence for the better amidst the COVID-19 crisis. One of the most remarkable is Kapamilya star Angel Locsin, who is using her influence for the better.
On March 20, Angel, her fiancé Neil Arce, and La Belle Fete, a wedding planning business, started an initiative to set-up sleeping tents within hospital premises for our healthcare frontliners so they don’t have to worry about housing and transportation. Kapamilya stars like Angelica Panganiban, Anne Curtis, and Bea Alonzo were among the celebrities who immediately responded to the call by donating their taping beds.
Five days later, Angel launched #UniTENTweStandPH, a fund-raising campaign to procure additional tents for patients. The objective is to accommodate more patients who need immediate treatment while also prioritizing the safety of our health workers. The campaign was a huge success because of the generous and kind hearts of the donors. Through the #UniTENTweStandPH campaign, Angel was able to raise more than 11 million pesos for 135 hospitals nationwide in just nineteen days. Aside from the 246 tents, her team also received donations of food, PPEs, airconditioning units, and other medical supplies.
On May 19, Angel humbly reached out again. On her Instagram post, she encouraged fellow actors to revisit the idea of coming together to help those who are in need through “Shop and Share,” reviving her 2009 initiative to help Typhoon Ondoy victims. It was a successful fundraising drive. A huge number of actors, singers, and even basketball players donated personal items that were auctioned with all the proceeds going to Philippine Red Cross for distribution among those affected.
For the 2020 Shop and Save edition, Angel together with Anne Curtis and their team plan to use whatever funds raised to purchase test kits and spearhead testing opportunities for the poorer sectors of the country in hopes of helping out in the efforts to provide mass testing in the Philippines. Angel is hopeful that fellow artists and Filipinos will join her and work together to help flatten the curve in the Philippines.
