The Christmas season is a wonderful time to be in the Philippines: the air and atmosphere is cool, sales abound every store imaginable, and it seems everyone is significantly nicer and more forgiving. Perhaps it’s the magic of the season, or maybe it’s the cooler air—regardless, Christmas is a months-long celebration in the Philippines, and very few do it as big or as bright as the University of Sto. Tomas.
Dubbed as the oldest university in the Philippines, UST is a Catholic school that holds true to many of its wonderful traditions. This, of course, includes a grand celebration of Christmas, with the annual Paskuhan lighting the Manila night sky during the start of December.
