Philippine Eagle Week 2020 Kicks Off With Online Events to Help Sustain Conservation Efforts Amidst the Pandemic

The Philippine Eagle Center in Malagos, Davao City is the only center in the world to breed Philippine Eagles successfully and are monumentally instrumental to the conservation effort of this critical animal. But, due to the avian flu threat and continuing efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Davao City, the center is temporarily closed for tourists. Our animal housemates are also in quarantine and need more support now than ever.
As a non-profit organization, the PEF relies primarily on footfall, as well as on donations to fund its day-to-day operations. The foundation faces depleted resources for the food and care of over 100 animals, including 31 Philippine Eagles. On 4-10 June 2020, the Philippine Eagle Week will once again be commemorated. This year’s Eagle Week is extra special as they dedicate it to the frontliners who work tirelessly in the mission despite these challenging times.
A series of online activities will be conducted to drum up further support for the PEC animals to sustain their needs amid the pandemic.
Any amount will be helpful. You may visit the website of the Philippine Eagle Foundation. We hope you’ll find it in your heart to think of our eagle friends too. #PEW2020 #SavePHEagle
