The province is subdivided into seven municipalities: Alabel, Malapatan, Glan, Malungon, Maasim, Kiamba and Maitum.

Maitum celebrates the Bangsi Festival in honor of its “One Town, One Product” the Bangsi or Flying Fish on January 27-29, 2016.

During the festival, Maitumians also renew their commitment to protect and conserve its seas.

There is going to be an outrigger race, bangsiyawan, and the most awaited Sugba sa Kadalanan where a ton of Bangsi are grilled on the streets to be feast on by the people.
