Experience Rodeo Masbateno

This year, 400 hundred cowboys from different provinces in the Philippines are set to participate at the Rodeo National Finals. This event is considered as the highlight of the festival because of the excitement and uniqueness that can be witnessed only here. Events lined up include bull riding, 2-4 person carambola, bulldogging, lassoing from horseback and the much anticipated cattle wrestling on foot.
Another highlight of the festival is the Cattle Drive, which re-enacts how the locals would drive a herd of cattle from ranches to the pier in the olden times.
The Rodeo Masbateno Festival started in 1993 as a way of uplifting the local cattle industry. Since then, the festival helped improve tourism and commerce in the region. It also established Masbate as the “CATTLE COUNTRY OF THE PHILIPPINES” and the “RODEO CAPITAL OF THE PHILIPPINES”.
DID YOU KNOW?
Masbate has the only fixed arena in the country solely for rodeo complete with grandstand, rodeo corral, stockyard, rodeo chute, bull riding chute, roping chute and lights for the night rodeo.
Homegrown cowboys of Masbate are truly world class. They have participated in international rodeo festivals such as the National Rodeo Finals in Las Vegas.
