Binaki is that known delicacy in Cagayan de Oro and Northern Mindanao made from grated young corn mixed with powdered milk, baking powder, sugar and water. It is wrapped with corn husks and sold in Divisoria and public markets in the city - according to ABS-CBN Cagayan De Oro repoter Bonna Pamplona.

adventuringfoodie.com described it as a steamed cake made of grated young corn with powdered milk, baking powder and sugar mixed with water. It is a known delicacy of Northern Mindanao and was originally a homemade dessert in Bukidnon.
