When every restaurant in Metro Manila seems a bit too crowded for our liking, this hidden gem in the bustling district of Quezon City is a huge sigh of relief – especially for the Titas in us.

Stories by Lilypad is an ancestral house turned restaurant located in Times St. West Avenue that serves warm, hearty meals that can make you feel good in an instant. They serve a wide array of comfort foods including an all-day breakfast menu, pastas, generous burgers and rice meals.

Particular favorites that you should come looking for the next time you plan to spend lunch out with officemates and friends are their bestsellers – Godofried Chicken, Tuna in Olive Oil Pasta, Grilled Cheese Sandwich & Tomato Soup and the Jakothai Rice. You’ll probably have an idea now what Jakothai means, we assume? Yes, it’s a fusion of Japanese, Korean and Thai flavors in one plate.

Their menu is made even more interesting with their selection of liquid potions, both hot and cold, that easily spears one’s heart with their rich flavors. Get their shot of espresso for a whole lot of zing or a non-coffee blend for those who want to stay away from caffeine.

Despite the tempting menu that Stories of Lilypad has to offer, what makes it unique from other restaurants that kind of offers the same type of cuisine is its ability to make you feel like you’re just at home with your friends and family. The walls hugging the whole place seem like they’ve already heard a million stories of love, life, and dreams. It’s a comfortable place for people to share whatever without the fear of not being able to hear each other out because the shop’s music is too loud or the diners are too rowdy – definitely a safe haven for your thoughts, we must say.

Our furry babies are even welcome, too! Talk about being inclusive.

Stories by Lilypad really does feel like home.
