With hustle and bustle life in the city, it is important to take a break and be one with nature. Midway Fresh Market and Restaurant in Passi City, Iloilo offers a back to basic experience for everyone who needs to feel refreshed and feel the simplicity of life.
It was a dream of the grandfather of Mr. Martin Palmares to have a farm filled with fruits and vegetables. “My lolo was very passionate about farming. Back then, we had sugarcane,” says Martin. They also started planting bananas and pineapples. “Because of good harvests, we put a small fruit stand near the highway. With the demand from our customers, we decided to plant more fruits and vegetables”. Promoting an eco-friendly environment, they use natural farming technologies and recycle farm waste by making it into fertilizer for their plants. Today, the farm is situated in a 12-hectare property that offers farm tours for visitors to experience farm life.
This month is rambutan season so they opened a rambutan festival where you can harvest and eat all the fruits that you can. The trees filled with red-colored fruit will really get your attention. Four varieties of rambutan are in the area – the s2, red maharlika, yellow maharlika, and the rhong rhein. Visitors may enjoy having their rambutan with a peaceful and serene place.
