Marcia Adams' Restaurant: An Appetizing Treat in a Secret Garden

Tucked in the rolling hills of Cavite is Marcia Adams', a Mediterranean restaurant that has been dubbed as the "Little Tuscany Place in Tagaytay" by a local magazine. The name must have stuck because it's not really in Tagaytay but in Alfonso and the architecture is not only inspired by farm buildings in Tuscany but also by Spanish, Greek, and Moroccan architecture.

Such intricacy in design seems to be out of place in the now-busy Aguinaldo Highway and non-descript adjacent street of Brgy. Sikat. So odd that one would not expect finding a winding path of luscious greens and flowers in full bloom that leads to a treat for the palate.

Marcia Adams is the married name of owner Marcia Ciupan from Antique. The Adams lineage is of the retired British engineer Neil. They met when Neil was working on a waste conversion project in Manila. After having four kids, they decided to leave the city and move to Cavite. The family bought a two-hectare farm which they later turned into the Marcia Adams' Restaurant that it is now.

Bright ornamentals, old bricks, mismatched antique chairs, and the wrought-iron chandelier complement the variety of plants that Marcia tend to.

It was all inspired from the travels of the couple in the Mediterrean region and most of the dishes are recipes of the owner herself. The minimum cover charge for a 3-course meal is PhP 700 per head.

Amalfi Prawns
Crispy and succulent prawns marinated in salt, pepper, olive oil, parsley, coated with bread crumbs and pan-fried.

Beef Tenderloin and Bacon Kebabs (PhP 875)
Provencal-style beef tenderloin marinated in garlic and anchovies.

Italian Pork Chop (PhP 795)
A grilled loin chop seasoned with fennel and pepper.

Panna Cotta with Lemon Sauce

With great food and relaxing ambiance, one can't help but escape to Marcia Adams' secret garden if only for an afternoon.
