Sugar, Spice, and Everything Nice: 9 Must-try Ice Cream Flavors in Albay

Mention Albay in the Bicol Region and the first thing that comes to mind is the majestic and enchanting beauty of Mt. Mayon, the only volcano in the world with a near-perfect cone.

When it comes to Culinaria Albay, the province' campaign on culinary tourism, the key phrases are the sili-infused dishes, pili-inspired snacks, and the indigenous laing made from dried taro and coconut milk

That's why it doesn't come as a surprise if these ingredients can also be found in their ice cream. Homegrown restaurant 1st Colonial Grill experimented with blending Albay's famous produce into the sweet treat. The result? A wide and colorful selection of mouthwatering ice cream with the fiery sili ice cream as its flag bearer.

Here are the 9 must-try ice cream flavors in Albay:

1) Sili

2) Pili

3) Tinutong na Bigas (Burnt Rice)

4) Taro (Coco Yam)

5) Tablea (Chocolate)

6) Malunggay

7) Pipino (cucumber)

8) Kalamansi

9) Salabat (Ginger Powder)

What do you think will be your favorite? These flavors are available in small cups and in half-gallon containers if you wish to take them home with you.
