Davao City is the largest city in the Philippines at 2,444 square kilometers of industrial, residential, commercial and agricultural lands.  There are urban and rural gardeners producing organic vegetables for the health-conscious Davaoeños.

Restaurants have also been going green to cater to the growing clientele.

Here are 5 of where to go green restaurants in Davao.

1.    Balik Bukid Farm and Kitchen

When the farm-to-table concept was introduced in Davao City, it was Balay Bukid that first became popular.

The restaurant has a “recycled and reused” homey atmosphere that would further tickle your curiosity to try their balik bukid vegetable salad, blue and yellow rice, beef tapa, pork laing, and homemade tableya ice cream, just to name a few of their mouth watering healthy food.

The restaurant’s façade is a bahay kubo with herbs and other plants.  They also sell eggs, vinegar, coffee, and other organic products.

Every now and then, they have concerts to save the eagle, mt. apo, and other environmental causes.

Be a healthy, organic, and environment warrior diner at Balik Bukid at Sandawa Quimpo Boulevard. Open at 11am-2pm and at 5-10pm. Contact: (082) 296-4543.
