Festivals are showcases of culture, tradition, and religion.  These three are beautifully mixed to create an occasion where locals take pride in showing their uniqueness and tourists acquaint themselves with what makes other cultures distinct.
In Mindanao, here are three festivals to head off to:

1.    Luponan Festival in Lupon Davao Oriental  August 2-8, 2018

To get to Lupon, fly from Manila and Cebu to Davao City and take a road trip from Davao City’s Ecoland terminal to Lupon.  Travel time from Davao City is 2 and a half hours.

2.    Kadayawan Festival in Davao City August 10-19, 2018

To get to Davao City, take the plane from Manila and Cebu.  Major airlines ply the route daily.

3.    Higalaay Festival (Kagay-an) in Cagayan de Oro City August 15-28, 2018

To get to Cagayan de Oro, take the plane from Manila and Cebu.  Major airlines fly daily to CdO.
