Filipinos will always choose to smile amidst hardships; we find happiness even in the small things. We know how to be grateful and remain positive. We believe in the goodness of others. Indeed, despite any challenges, Filipino optimism shines through. ABS-CBN aims to promote the Philippines as a unique travel destination.
Let’s take a look back at our Summer Station ID’s that take pride in the beauty of each region, colorful culture, and of course, the stories behind the unique and infectious smiles of the Pinoys.
Love knows no season. The spirit of love shines in the 2018 ABS-CBN Summer campaign, Just Love Araw-Araw – because every day is an opportunity to love. The SID highlights the beauty and the bayanihan spirit of Kapamilyas in San Juan, La Union, Mt. Batolusong in Tanay, Rizal, Tayug, Pangasinan, Stobosa in La Trinidad, Benguet, Philippine Rice Institute in Munoz, Nueva Ecija, Kawit, Cavite and FTI Tenement in Taguig.
There are people who bring with them the sunshine anywhere they go. These are the people featured in ABS-CBN’s 2017 Summer Station ID. The Bangkarera’s of Lake Pandin in Laguna, Boy Violet in Divisoria, Sr. Gloria Agagon, FMA in Manila, Volunteers of Baclaran Mural Mosaic, Manny Dela Rosa, flute player in train stations, Dodoy Teberio, water vendor in Cebu, Pililla Wind Farm in Rizal, Senior Citizens Bible Study and Fellowship Group in UP Church of the Risen Lord, Visually Impaired Kids, Dara Mae Tuazon, Street Children Teacher, TV Patrol Caravan and DZMM Kapamilya Day.
Love shines through with the 2015 Summer Station ID “Shine, Pilipinas” Kapamilya stars including Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel Padilla, Sarah Geronimo, Piolo Pascual, and the cast of other Kapamilya primetime shows. “Forevermore” love team Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano recorded the theme song of the summer campaign.
Centering on the theme, PINASmile, the Summer Station ID serves as a vehicle to showcase to people around the globe that the smiles back in the country. Genuine smiles can never be scripted, so the SID’s goal was to bring out raw and authentic happiness from the simple Pinoys. Kapamilya stars immerse themselves with the locals of the different places they visited such as the Igorots of Baguio, Aetas of Mt. Pinatubo, and Ivatans of Batanes. The SID also made it a priority to visit the provinces that have been severely devastated by calamities in 2013, particularly Bohol, Samar, and Leyte.
The 2012 Summer Station ID show the true colors behind Pinoy summer and share the amazing reasons why it is the ultimate summer destination for tourists and fellow kababayans. It paints a picture of how Filipinos are proud of their heritage and values as reflected in our very own festivals. Bayanihan, camaraderie, unity, respect, and love for one’s self are the prime Filipino values highlighted. Color and joy spread like summer heat, awakening the festivities, and making celebrations more alive.
The positive stories and warm smiles of every Pinoys in the regions are testaments of how brave and happy Filipino hearts could be despite life’s challenges.
