It turns out there’s one thing most people do every morning that could be making them happier. No, it’s not working out and it’s definitely not checking emails, but rather it’s their morning cup of coffee. That small cup of coffee can even ramp up your workflow and productivity at work. But, if you want a new place to escape the daily stresses of life and enjoy a cup of native coffee, make a stopover in a coffee shop in Davao City.
Kilometer 7 Café in Carnagan-Eden Road, Barangay Bayabas, Toril is a small coffee shop with a native theme and a relaxing view of trees and mountains. “Our coffee shop’s dream started when our family went to a café for some bonding. We thought of why not making our own. Thus, the dream became a realization,” shared Sheila Mae Basiana, the owner.
Aside from the relaxing ambiance, they also serve local delicacies like Budbud (rice cake), Tsokolate (thick hot chocolate drink), and their very own Native and Arabica Coffee. They also offer Silog meals and snack meals such as sandwiches and shakes, enough to munch while looking at the picturesque mountains. “Our foods are freshly prepared, we got most of our ingredients from local farmers. We also hire locals in the community to help them earn income. Motorcycle drivers in the area also earn from tourists who want to dine and visit in our area.”
The café wants to relay a message to their customers about the importance of taking care of our natural resources so that our future generations can still reap the benefits from it. “It is very important to support local businesses, especially during these trying times to help them bounce back. Patronizing local businesses means helping our own people,” shared Mae. #BuyNaKayJuan
