This all-around Filipino take on omelets is not difficult to cook: all you need to do is mix your favorite sahog (topping/ingredient) in whisked eggs and fry them on a hot pan! Filipinos truly find happiness in the simplest of things and their love for torta proves just that! Check these favorite torta types out for your next meal!
Tortang giniling is one of the, if not the most common take, on torta. Ground pork is what most opt to use -all you have to do is sauté it with onion, garlic, and tomatoes (for the extra flavor!) and scramble it up with eggs to fry. Serve it hot and fresh, kainan na!
This kind of Torta might just be the first thing that enters your mind when you hear “Torta.” Tortang talong may be slightly more difficult to make compared to others, but the effort of boiling, peeling and flattening the eggplant is all worth it for the final product! Pass the ketchup and dig in!

Corned beef is such a go-to breakfast ulam, especially with eggs on the side, it’s no question as to why we love to cook it!
