Beyond the unique islands, falls and destinations, coolers make our Zamboanga experience much more fun! If you get the chance to visit Ciudad de Zamboanga, here are the coolest treats you shouldn’t miss:
One of Zamboanga’s best cold treats, Knickerbocker Glory is a mixture of watermelon, banana, mango, flavored gelatin, with special iced cream topped strawberry flavored ice cream. To see what the fuss is about, head to Hacienda Palmeras Restaurant located at Km 4 Road, Sta. Maria, Zamboanga City, and its outlet at Paseo del Mar, Zamboanga City.
Home to heirloom dishes in Zamboanga, Alavar Seafood House also houses one of the best coolers dubbed Zamboanga White: a mixture of lychee, buko, pineapple, milk, crushed ice, and some secret ingredients thrown in for good measure. It is best enjoyed after indulging in a curacha feast at the same restaurant.
Mon’s Grill Halo-Halo
This Halo-halo is a standout among all the other variants found in the Philippines. Featured several times on television, this Halo-halo takes the top spot, owing to the unique yema cream settled at the bottom. Mon’s Grill Halo-halo was born in the Municipality of Mahayag, with several branches found in Pagadian City, Ipil, Sindangan, and Zamboanga City.
Originally hailing from Cagayan de Oro City, this new cold craze is changing our ideas of Halo-halo toppings! Coldzone offers exciting new variants of toppings not usually associated with the beloved Filipino dessert. Classic ingredients such as red beans, milk, crushed ice, and kaong are still available but with a twist in their flavorings. Available at Coldzone Halo-halo-Pagadian Branch, Urro St., fronting Strata Office and Blessed Mother Birthing Home, Pagadian City.
