Sisiman Bay: Have An Amazing View Of Bataan's Rustic Side From The White Light House

Situated right across Mariveles Bay, in the southeast of Bataan Province, could be the perfect spot for your next off-road-and-by-the-beach adventure. Sisiman Lighthouse, a piece of natural art, is not your usual destination— it's smacked right in between large-scale factories and powerplants. Despite its unconventional geographical location, Sisiman Lighthouse undoubtedly exudes a peculiar charm that somehow gets under one's skin.

Exploring this side of Mariveles, one would be surprised at the distinct rustic aura of its boulder beach that gradually spreads into a dirt off-road track that leads to a white imposing light house. Behind the regal view stands the San Miguel Peak which could be hiked for a panoramic view of the entire bay.

If you're up for an easy sunrise hike, rent a locally-owned cottage for the night, enjoy the sunset by the bay while dipping in its calm water, or simply spend the day having a good conversation with the locals. There's truly no end to what you can do with some creativity and a whole lot of that adventurous soul.

How to go there:

Commute

  • From Pasay, you could hop on a direct bus ride to Mariveles, then ask to be dropped off at BASECO building.
  • From there, hail a tricycle that could take you to the town of Sisiman.

Where else can I go coming from Sisiman?

  • Check out Mariveles' Five Fingers Cove, a truly impeccable spot in Bataan.
  • Zip over to the northwest of Bataan, in the town of Morong, where several beach resorts are lined up.
  • If you're looking for some sort of a cultural retreat, your best bet would be a visit to Las Casas Filipinas De Acuzar in the town of Bagac.
