Found in the south coast of Mariveles in the province of Bataan, is a natural wonder teeming with peculiar rock formation, coves, caves, cliffs, and beaches, you name it, and they have it.

Natsu Lagoon, one of the 7 stops in Mariveles Five Fingers

Yua and I, found ourselves sailing through the waters of Mariveles Bay. We have been to four destinations by noon, and as we continue with our journey around the captivating 'Mariveles Five Fingers', the boat engines suddenly lost its roar by a bend.

Slowly unfurling before us are sedimentary rocks - jagged, gleaming, and dusky. The entry looking out from the cave was a delightful sight and as we got closer to it, the waters gradually turned from cerulean to midnight blue.

I jumped on the kayak to quiet the pounding curiosity inside me. As I attempt to efficiently row my way to the cave, I listen closely to the distinct tonal chirps from birds they call "Balinsasayaw" or Swiftlet. These are birds also found in El Nido, whose nests, made out of their saliva, are used in making the famous "nido soup".

Inside the chamber was cool and breezeless, contrasting with the summer heat by the cracks outside. The water was in repose, exuding a bit of mystery and tingling some of my 'unreasonable' fears. Perhaps, those that capture the imagination from thriller films. Before I knew it, I was lost in the respite that the tiny space allowed me to take part of.

I went back to the opening, reminded that the group was waiting for me. By then, I was back to reality and on to the next destination we're bound for in this little paradise-like town.
