The recent Bb. Pilipinas, held last April 30, 2017 and won by Bb. Rachel Louise Peters of Camarines Sur, had once more reminded Filipinos all over the country how the Filipinos beauty pageants seriously. Sometimes, the whole Philippines shuts down (not literally) just to watch with bated breath who will be crowned the new Miss Universe, or World, or Philippines. Suffice to say, the recent pageantries have rekindled the Filipino’s love for beauty, both in and out. So, what if we turned the tables, and instead made the Philippines’ countless wonderful beaches fight for the crown? Who will end up taking it?

Boracay, Aklan

Boracay island is still considered as one of the premiere tourist destinations in the country. In the context of beauty queens, Boracay would perhaps be that contestant who had won a pageant a long time ago, and had aged gracefully over the years.

Still beautiful.

Bantayan, Cebu

Bantayan is one of the best beaches in the country. It also happens to be located in one of the Philippines' most culturally-significant islands. Visayas has no shortage of white sand beaches, and Bantayan is as beautiful as Boracay. As a beauty queen, Bantayan would likely be that contestant who has yet to realize her potential, but once she does, truly wondrous things will happen.

White sand wonderland!

Coron, Palawan

Palawan has recently taken over local and international travel websites in recent years. It has been featured on numerous publications, both online and offline, all over the world, and lauded for its unique charm and crystal-clear waters. As a beauty queen, Palawan would most likely be that particular queen that makes everyone—Filipino or otherwise—fall head over heels for her!

Pink Beach, Zamboanga

Being recently featured on National Geographic's article, "21 Best Beaches in the World," Zamboanga's unique Pink Beach has indeed caught the eyes of many travelers. Its charm lies in the pink (!) sand found on its beach, and is a rare occurence indeed, even for a country as rich and diverse as the Philippines. As a beauty pageant contestant, Pink Beach won't be your first choice as the winner; however, as you get to know her better, you'll quickly see that she isn't all that she seems to be!

Caramoan, Camarines Sur

In comparison to the rest of this list, Caramoan isn't as popular. For one, it only rose to popularity in recent years, after being featured in a reality TV show. However, despite being rough around the edges, it has so much potential and beauty, only waiting to be discovered. As a beauty queen, the island will still need to go through a few obstacles in order to realize her true potential, but eventually, she'll find it!
