During summer months, everyone loves going to the beach. The beach can be a very relaxing place, where you can ignore your responsibilities and enjoy the calming effects of the sun, sand and waters. Besides being a great place to enjoy yourself, a trip to the beach can have an amazing health benefits. But, we have a different summer story this year as we cannot be able to experience “vitamin sea” as our natural resources enjoy their very own summer break.

For instance, Dahican Beach in Mati, Davao Oriental, one of Mindanao’s top summer destinations, enjoys “me time”, as reflected by the photos released by Mati Tourism Events. Dahican Beach offers a simple, unspoiled slice of paradise and a sanctuary for sea turtles and other sea creatures.
Today, the 7-kilometer stretch of beach surrounded by coconut trees is shown to be empty, far from the usual summer picture where tourists are enjoying their “sun-kissed moments” on the powdery white sands, uncrowded shores, and crystal blue waters.
Beach campsites and rustic cottages are also closed to ensure the safety of locals and tourists. While devoid of their usual guests, establishments are taking advantage of the situation to keep their beachfront clean.
While Mati is using this period to prepare for receiving guests on its beautiful shores once again, the local government is also preparing guidelines for the “new normal.” In the meantime, the LGU asks every Filipino to remain at home and use these photos as background for your zoom meeting.
