Bicol is renowned for its picturesque landscapes (Mayon, just to mention one!) and beaches. Just recently, the Choose Philippines team was given the opportunity to visit the region -- and true enough, Bicol is as drop-dead gorgeous as its famous volcano.

Now, back to our story. The halo-halo in question: DJC Halo-Halo, originally from Tiwi, Albay, but has since made its mark across Bicol.

"Who knew that aside from Bicol's famous pili nut, laing, Bicol express and pinangat, they would have their very own version of the Filipino summer favorite, halo-halo.?" That's what I exclaimed when I first laid my eyes on this creamy treat.

bicol The DJC Halo-Halo Experience

We were fortunate enough to meet one of the owners in the Tiwi original branch. This only made the DJC halo-halo experience even more authentic!

So next time you're in Bicol, spare the time to visit the 3 branches in Tiwi (mother branch), Legazpi, and Naga.
