Villa Marmarine Resort, Siquijor

Siquijor is fast becoming the place to be, with its pristine beaches and laidback lifestyle. Tourists love this small island in the Visayas, not only for its natural resources, but also for the wonderful kindness of its people.

A lot of the resorts in Siquijor are foreign-owned, and quite a few are also expensive, at least for budget travelers like me. One place I really liked was Villa Marmarine, just a kilometer from Siquijor town.

Owned by a Japanese and Filipino couple, Villa Marmarine faces the ocean, and the beach is a wonderful place to be when you're just chilling out. It has several cottages and has its own restaurant as well which has some affordable dishes.

There are a few things that guests would really like about this resort: they have free wifi, free pick up from the pier, very friendly and accommodating staff, and their rooms are clean and affordable, from P500 and up.

True, there may be other, cheaper alternatives in Siquijor (like the P150-room I had in Larena, Siquijor), but for comfort and convenience, Villa Marmarine comes highly recommended.
