If you are in South Cotabato this Mother’s Day weekend, here are five places where you can treat mom.
1. Our Lady of Mt. Matutum Trappistine Monastery
Start your Mother’s Day treat for Mom at the Trappistine Monastery and say a prayer, light a candle, and give thanks for having your mom in your life.
Note: Dress appropriately. Do not wear shorts, sleeveless blouses, or revealing necklines and dresses. Observe silence.
Location: Landan, Polomolok, South Cotabato Contact: 09094155672
2. Sunflower Farm
Mariano’s Blooming Field’s main attraction is its fields of sunflowers. If you go up the observatory deck, you will see that the plants are planted to form an I LOVE MOM.
There are also other colorful flowers planted along with the sunflowers. Other attractions are an aviary and a restaurant where you can have snacks. Organic vegetables are also for sale.
Location: From General Santos City, turn right on the Tupi Sea Oil Gas Station leading to Tupi Central Elementary School. Signage will lead you to the park. Entrance fee: PhP50.
3. Tambilawan Kamayan Restaurant (GenSan, Polomolok, Koronadal)
Tambilawan Kamayan Restaurant is the first halal-certified restaurant in General Santos City. It has adhered to the strict halal laws from marketing to cooking and has already branched out to nearby Polomolok and Koronadal.
Tambilawan’s inasal, chicken sisig, and halo-halo are its best sellers but its other delicious offerings would really fill you up.
After praying at the Trappistine monastery, eat at Tambilawan.
4. Tuburan Moutain View Resort
Bring mom to a mountain resort that has a spring-fed pool, delicious food, and the freshest mountain air for her to breathe in.
Get her to relax and enjoy the lush garden or if you go on a Saturday, serenade her with the acoustic band at the restaurant.

5. Fruit Market
The town of Tupi in South Cotabato is the fruit basket of the province. Just along the side of the highway are fruit stalls selling pineapples, avocadoes, mangoes, and other fruits in season. Would you believe that solo papaya sells for just PhP4/kilo?
Buy mom the freshest fruits.
