Palawan's Small Lagoon: Enjoy Its Blend Of Crystal Clear, Sapphire, & Emerald Waters

Head to the north shores of Miniloc Island and there lies a more intimate and secretive counterpart of the Big Lagoon— Palawan's Small Lagoon. The lagoon is not as grandeur as the former but stunning nonetheless which can be attributed to its calm waters. A peice of advice, shun your thoughts of the fictitious reptilian, amphibian-beings from movies you grew up watching.

You could kayak your way through the lagoon, if that gives you a more peaceful way of exploring or choose to shed a few more calories gained from that sumptuous island feast by treading its blend of crystal clear, sapphire, and emerald waters.

How to get there:

  • Take a flight bound to Puerto Princesa where you can hop on a van that will take you up north to El Nido for about 3 hours.
  • Several tour companies are scattered in El Nido’s town proper, offering a set of destinations for the day. Choose El Nido ‘Tour A’ which includes Secret Lagoon, Small and Big Lagoon, Shimizu Island, and Seven Commando Beach.

Nearby locations:

There are several ways to get started with your ultimate Palawan Adventure. You can opt to fly from Manila to Coron, thereafter, ride a ferry that will zip over to El Nido. Another option would be spending a day or two exploring Puerto Princesa then hop on a van that will traverse through highways to El Nido.
