The Charie Chronicles: Tacloban’s Tikog Crafts

“Tikog” is a special reed grass which grows in swampy areas along rice fields and has solid, jointless, and usually triangular stems.

“Woven Tikog bags (banig bags). TIKOG is a kind of grass that looks like rice longer in length, 300 pesos each from Basey, Samar. However, these are old stock because the tikog has to be planted and grown. They expect more products by September,” said Charie Villa.
