Summer is fast approaching, yet many of us can’t afford to stay away from the office for a long period of time, or simply can’t afford that expensive vacation to Boracay. Well, we’re here to answer that problem by giving you seven beaches near the Metro that you can easily visit, without having to shell out a fortune!

Boracay de Cavite

Named in honor of the original Boracay in Visayas, this unique Luzon beach has many of the things you associate with Boracay: fine, white sand, beautiful waters, and an idyllic island life. However, there's one thing that sets it apart from Boracay, and simply put, it's the lack of crushingly-huge crowds. This is perfect for both Caviteños and Manileños looking for a nearby weekend getaway.

Anilao Beach

Anilao has always been known as a weekend getaway for many Manileños, and for good reason: about 3-4 hours away from Manila, it's far enough for you to escape from the office, but near enough that you don't have to spend a fortune getting there. If you're feeling even more adventurous, why not take the entire weekend to go island-hopping? They're all yours to conquer!

Nagsasa Cove

Another weekend getaway, Nagsasa is located in Zambales, about 5-6 hours away from the Metro. Nagsasa is predominantly known for surfing, however, other activities include island-hopping, snorkeling and diving, and of course, just enjoying the idyllic island life.

Fun times ahead!

Tingko Beach

Cebu has become more and more urbanized over the years, and employees are now looking to escape the rat race, even for just a weekend, through very creative ways. One way includes visiting the nearby Tingko Beach, located in Alcoy. With a travel time of approximately three hours from Cebu City, it's a very popular destination for employees looking for a nearby (and economical) means of escape from the big city.

Hidden Beach

It's already there in the name: in spite of its proximity to Cebu--with only an hour and a half travel time from the city--it's relatively unknown to many, even the locals. Regardless, it's one of Aloguinsan's most beautiful beaches, and is made even better by its fine sand, relative quiet, and the ease of travel going to this secluded destination.

Kaputian Beach Park Resort

One of the few government-owned resorts, Kaputian is located in the southernmost part of Samal Island, and is a few hours' boat ride away from Davao City. Being owned and operated by the government, the resort is inexpensive, with only Php 10 for the entrance fee. This makes it one of the most popular destinations on the island, and easily pulls in both Davao and Samal locals, as well as visitors from all over the world.

Costa Marina Resort

Another popular resort, the beachfront is just a 15-minute boat ride from Davao City. It's very popular among locals and foreigners alike, and with a day tour rate of less than Php 200, it's easy to see why so many people flock to this beach resort during long weekends.
