Comfort on a Budget in Cagayan de Oro City

Cagayan de Oro City is a highly urbanized city in Mindanao.  It is the capital city of Misamis Oriental and covers 412.80 square kilometers.

CdeO has been a gateway to other provinces and cities of Mindanao.  Finding a comfortable place to stay in can be quite a challenge especially when you need to strictly follow an allotted budget.  Fortunately, there are places that are easy on the pocket but offer secured and relaxing rooms to stay in.

When you are on a lay-over in CdeO, try Win Min Transcient Inn at the Agora Terminal.  You pay PhP 65 pesos for a standard room and PhP 75 for a superior room per hour for a minimum of 3 hours.  What’s the best about this deal?  The rooms are airconditioned with hot and cold shower, flat screen TV, plus very comfortable beds and pillows!

There is a market right in front of the inn with dining choices and the bus terminal is just a few steps away. This would be the best place to stay in for backpackers and transcients.

If you have a slightly bigger budget, there is New Dawn Pensionne in Macahambus Street.

The rooms are larger; there is a dining area at the restaurant, refrigerator for the executive rooms, free WI-FI, and a gym.  The Pelaez Sports Complex is just a few steps away and a convenience store is right in front of the pensionne.

The beds and pillows guarantee a comfortable and relaxing sleep.

If you have the budget to stay in a hotel, right in the middle of Velez Street and a walking distance from Plaza Divisoria of CdeO, is Grand City Hotel.

Here, there’s buffet breakfast, large spacious rooms, free WI-FI, comfortable beddings, restaurants, free late check out up to 2 hours, and the best fresh lumpia and pancit because of the home made noodles.

When you want to have meetings, weddings, product launches, and other functions, Grand City has a ballroom and other rooms for your needs.

So you see there is a place for every budget and yet still get value for your money in Cagayan de Oro City.

How to get there:
Major airlines have daily flights to Cagayan de Oro City from Manila, Davao and Cebu.
From Laguindingan airport, take the very convenient LAX Express Shuttle to bring you to the city’s Centrio Mall for only PhP 150.
