Escape to the Hills & Find Refuge at The Monastery of Transfiguration in Bukidnon

Found in San Jose, Malaybay, Bukidnon, The Monastery of Transfiguration is 10 minutes away from the main highway.

On your way up, one will surely enjoy the sight of verdant hills where agricultural products such as rice, corn, peanuts, soya beans, and coffee are harvested.

Once you reach the monastery, one will hear the soothing voices of Benedictine Monks chanting their prayers. Designed by the late National Artist for Architecture Leandro Locsin, the monastery’s chapel has a very inviting vibe that would make you want to stay in solitude and utter your prayers.

The monastery also sells their best-tasting coffee brand, pasalubong, and religious items are being sold at a small store found on the ground.

One can also stay at the monastery’s guest house for a retreat.  For inquiries, you may contact the Monastery of the Transfiguration at (088) 221-2373 or (088) 221-2899.

What else can you find in Bukidnon?

The province is said to have one of the cleanest public markets in the Philippines. Every year, the indigenous peoples from the seven tribes celebrate the Kaamulan festival
