Amiya: Take A Dip In One Of Mindanao’s Largest Salt-Chlorinated Pools
Ida Damo | Sep 13, 2017
One of Davao City’s territorial borders is the 308,000-hectare Davao Gulf which it shares with the five provinces of Davao Region. This makes Davaoeños close to the sea with Samal Island just 7 minutes away. Inspite of the closeness, Davao City do not lack inland resorts with fresh water swimming pools.
One of these oases is within the gated community of Amiya Resort Residences: its salt-chlorinated swimming pool inside its clubhouse complex is one of Mindanao’s largest and just recently opened to the public.
Surrounded by greens, it is a refreshing break from the ever growing development of Davao City.
You can take a dip, swim, or just plain take instagrammable photos because the pool is that photogenic. Swimming Pool fee is PhP300/person for day tour only. Children 4 years old and below are free.
If you want to stay overnight, casitas and villas with elegant interiors can be rented. The Dutsani Casitas (Good for 2 persons) Php4,500/night Tansanee Villa (Good for 4) PhP7,000/night.
Within the complex are restaurants, bar, gym, Thai massage and spa, and function halls.
Whether you just stay in the pool or in your casita, it would be a total rest and relaxation for you and your family at Amiya.
How to get there:
Major airlines fly daily to Davao City from Manila and Cebu. Travel time is an hour and 50 minutes from Manila and 50 minutes from Cebu.
