BuDa Mountain Resort: Travel Through the Amazing Hills of Mindanao
Ida Damo | Dec 03, 2015
BuDa (Bukidnon-Davao) is known for its all-in-one resorts and vacation houses built on the mountainside. One would surely enjoy the cool mountain breeze and the fresh vegetables and fruits that can be harvested from the hills.
What will make you stay in BuDa more exciting? It has a zipline that transports you from Arakan, Cotabato to Davao City.
The Sto. Niño of the Woods and Golden Gate Adventure Resort in Katipunan, Langub-Marilog in Davao City offers a thrilling zipline with the breathtaking hills as your view.
The zipline is gravity guided so upon reaching the end of the line, you don’t sway to and fro and will result in a gentle landing. One can try the ride at PhP 300 per head.
Having tried a lot of zipline rides, I tell you, this one is worth trying. You zip through lush hills as the cool mountain air rushes through.
Aside from the zipline, this 28-hectare mountain resort offers walking, hiking and mountain biking trails, a spring-fed swimming pool, canopy walk, and caving (Php100/head).
What to expect and bring:
The cool mountain air temperature can drop up to 14 degrees, so bring those sweaters or jackets. If you want to stay overnight, their European-inspired rest house can accommodate more or less 70 people. If you’re bringing and cooking your own food, gas use charge will depend on the number of persons.
Fresh vegetables and fruits are available at stalls on your way to the resort.
How to get there:
From Manila, Davao City is an hour and 40 minutes by plane and 3 days and 2 nights by land and sea. Sto. Niño of the Woods and Golden Gate Adventure Resort is located in Km. 72, Katipunan, Langub-Marilog, BuDa Road, Davao City which is an hour away from the city proper.
Buses bound for Bukidnon ply the route daily. Taxis can take you to Golden Gate. Arrange for them to take you back. Rate is negotiable.
If you have your own vehicle, take the right road from Ulas to BuDa. You won’t miss the yellow gate on your right in Marilog.
