Balicaocao: A Perfect Place to Unwind in Negros Occidental

Balicacao Highland Resort, simply known as Balicacao, is located in Brgy. Orong, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.

Balicacao is more than 500 feet above sea level giving you a panoramic view of the coastal towns of southern Negros. It is also a perfect place to watch the beautiful sunset of the island on top of a hill while relaxing or having a picnic with family or friends.

A minimal fee of about PhP 25 per head is collected upon entrance. You can just sit at one of the benches or pitch a tent at the camp site or rent a small open cottage for day trippers.

For big occasions, there’s a pavilion that can accommodate 200 persons. Those who would like to stay for a night, there are also cottages that can lodge the whole family.

Other facilities of the resort include a swimming pool, there’s a zip line (not sure if its operational though) and an area for cooking or grilling your meals. There’s also a convenience store nearby, more likely a sari-sari store, where you can buy ice, chips and drinks.

You can reach Balicaocao by riding a habal-habal (motorcycle) at the junction where you’ll go down from the highway. It will take about 30-45 minutes of bumpy ride up to the mountains leading to Balicaocao Highland Resort.

For inquiries or booking, contact the Kabankalan Tourism Affairs Office at (034) 471-2291 or 471-2507 Loc. 114.
