CML Beach Resort & Water Park: A Budget and Family-friendly Spot in Batangas

Most of us who are tired of the hustle and bustle of the Metro have dreams of relocating to the province, better if it's an island, and setting up a kubo by the beach. The same is true for one Casiana Mayuga Lätti, originally from Lemery, Batangas. She has always dreamed of living right by the sea. This and more became a reality in 2014 when her family opened CML Beach Resort & Water Park by the shore of Balayan Bay in their hometown.

CML is a combination of all the names in her family—Casiana, Lars, Michael, Christopher, Madeleine—along with their surname with Swedish roots, Lätti. Being a family-owned establishment has its perks. Most of the people behind the counters are either their aunt or uncle, a cousin, or a neighbor. This relationships extend even to guests, ensuring quality service with a smile.

Though the Lättis are now based in Dubai, they come home to their Batangueño home every chance they could. And, by that, we mean almost every month. Who wouldn't want to fly to the Philippines if it means waking up with a great view of the sea every morning?

Such scenery can be experienced by families and friends who check in at the CML Beach Resort, which boasts not only a beach front view but also reasonably priced accommodation. They have a total of 21 rooms: six Deluxe rooms for five (P7,000), four Ocean Deluxe rooms which are perfect for couples with two-three kids (P8,000), two Twin Suites for five (P8,500), three Junior Family Suites for eight (P10,000), and four Family Suites which can fit up to 10 guests (P12,000). All rooms are air-conditioned and rates come with breakfast. How's that for budget- and family-friendly?

The resort also features a 2-foot infinity pool fronting the sea and a big pool connected to a three-storey water slide. Both pools are just less than four feet, making it safe for kids. Overnighters can also avail the services of an in-house masseuse, which is perfect after a day of fun at the water park.

Making CML more affordable are its day tour and night tour rates. Guests can enjoy the resort's facilities from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for just P250 and from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. for P300. Of course, you'd want to be able to eat with your whole barkada in-between running around by the beach or just lazing around at the pool side. The resort provides open-air cabanas for P1,500-P2,000 that are good for 8-12 pax. You can bring in your own food for a corkage of P40/head. Grilling stations are present, as well.

If you're looking for a budget trip just two to three hours outside Manila, then CML Beach Resort & Water Park is one of your best picks.
